Yay Kone Klan had basic drawing skills and a long-standing interest in art, but had never had the chance to learn it systematically. A former student of Aye Myitta Disability Centre, she completed Grade 10 and now works there as an assistant teacher.

In May 2026, FYM connected the center with a volunteer artist. Two students joined a pilot online arts mentoring program. They met for 90 minutes, three times a week.

Within two months, her mentor noticed progress in both her artwork and her confidence. The possibility of displaying her work in an exhibition is now being considered.

The sessions gave her regular time to practice, feedback on her work and someone who took her interest seriously.

She is always enthusiastic during the art sessions, and her work has improved greatly. We now hope to see her artwork displayed in an exhibition.
