Purpose
To help young people make informed decisions about their next stage of education through practical guidance and first-hand experiences shared by students who have followed similar pathways.
What we do
FYM provides peer-based education guidance and experience sharing, connecting students with peers, university students, educators and mentors who have already navigated similar stages of education.
Through practical discussions and first-hand experiences, students can explore study options, ask questions, understand different pathways and prepare more confidently for their next steps.
Intended impact
Young people become better informed and more confident in making decisions about their next stage of education, with a clearer understanding of available pathways and choices that reflect their interests, abilities and aspirations.
What we have done
FYM has organized experience sharing between students at different stages of education. A Level and IB students have shared their experiences with O Level students, helping them explore options for their next stage of study.
FYM has also engaged university students studying in Thailand, the United States, Canada and Europe to share first-hand experiences of university applications, student life, adapting to new environments and opportunities such as part-time and summer work.
Results and evidence
- 12 participating students reported a clearer understanding of their education pathways and available study options.
- 75% of participants reported increased confidence in making informed decisions about their next stage of education.
